Saliva's Potential To Relieve Pain

Could the secret to powerful pain relief be inside your mouth?

Scientists in France say they have isolated a chemical in saliva that was able to relieve pain in lab rats.

They also were able to relieve the pain with a much lower concentration than that of morphine.

Researchers do not yet know how the chemical works, but say the study could lead to new strategies for pain relief.
