It's the season for construction, and the orange barrels are in full bloom on Michiana's roads.
INDOT has announced a few big projects in the area for the coming weeks:
- U.S. 31 will be closed for 20-minute intervals on Monday and Tuesday, between U.S. 6 and U.S. 30 in Plymouth. Crews will be putting up beams for a bridge for the new U.S. 31.
- State Road 331 between U.S. 6 and State Road 106 in Bremen will be closed June 1st through 12th as crews re-pave the railroad crossing.
- State Road 23 will be restricted to one lane between Twyckenham and Eddy at the five points intersection in South Bend as crews fill in large potholes. This will only happen during daylight hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
- The intersection of McKinley and Ironwood in South Bend will be closed Monday through Wednesday as crews re-pave the intersection.
