Holiday Shopping Safety for Young Children

It is time once again to deck the halls.

Officials want to remind parents to check their lists twice to make sure they are buying safe toys for their kids.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission, CPSC, held a press conference Tuesday, sharing some tips for holiday shopping.

Make sure that all toys are age and ability appropriate by examining package labels closely.

Be careful when buying gifts that include small parts or magnets.

"Children younger than three are more prone to mouth objects and are at greater risk of choking. Read and heed the label,” explained Nacy Nord of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
