Like Indiana, Michigan may require Voter ID

Voters in Michigan may soon be required to show a photo ID at the polls.

The state's Supreme Court heard arguments today.

A 1996 voter ID law was recently renewed by the Michigan House.

The issue has long divided Democrats and Republicans.

Critics say the ID requirement would keep poor people, nondrivers and others away from the polls.

Supporters say it is needed to prevent election fraud.
