There is apparently room for criticism when it comes to a new hotel, proposed for Roseland.
Plans to build a 60-unit, three-story hotel off Cleveland Road, east of State Road 933 received an unfavorable recommendation, after being studied by the staff of the St. Joseph County Area Plan Commission.
A report indicates the hotel is too big to be built on a one acre lot that lies in a residential area. “In our opinion (it) doesn't fit with the area. This type of intense commercial development is better suited for the area along 933,” said John Byroni of the St. Joseph County Area Plan Commission.
The full Area Plan Commission was set to hold a public hearing on the project next week.
That hearing has now been postponed and will have to be rescheduled.
