Indianapolis Airport Implodes Old Control Tower

It’s out with the old and in with the new at the Indianapolis International Airport.

Airport officials had a 1960's era control tower imploded early Monday morning.

The 140-foot tower opened in 1972. The tower closed in April upon the opening of its replacement.

The new control tower nearly doubles the old tower in height. It measures in at 340 feet tall with almost double the amount of floor space.
