An Indiana National Guard Unit Maybe Redeployed

An Indiana National Guard unit could be called up for a second tour of duty in Iraq.

The Pentagon is currently working on plans that would send an entire National Guard combat brigade back.

It would be a departure from a previous military decision not to deploy reserves for more than a cumulative 24 months in Iraq.

Smaller units and individual troops from the guard have already returned to Iraq for longer periods, and some active duty units have served multiple tours.

Officials say the first units to deploy in the war would likely be among those first called for a second tour.
