Indiana's highway commissioner is stepping down.
Tom Sharp handed in his resignation today after nearly two years on the job.
Sharp is a former Alcoa executive who came out of retirement in January 2005 to head the State Highway Agency.
During his tenure, Governor Daniels initiated a major highway improvement plan, funded in part through the lease of the Indiana toll road.
Sharp will be replaced by Karl Browning at the end of the month.
