Congressman Chris Chocola does not take his career ending defeat personally.
He says he is a victim of the anti-Republican wave that is sweeping the nation, following the President's low poll numbers and the war in Iraq.
During his concession speech Tuesday night in South Bend, he offered his congratulations to Joe Donnelly.
He also said he now plans to step away from the political spotlight.
"I can't imagine; there are a lot of great things to do in life. I never intended to have a political career. We'll move on to another phase of our life," explains Chocola.
Chocola says his only regret is that he could not claim victory for all of the people who worked so hard for him.
