A fear of many parents with elementary age kids is your child contracting head lice.
A team of Utah scientists has a new invention they say will help.
It is called the "louse-buster."
The device is similar to a hair-dryer.
The louse-buster works by drying out the lice and nits on a child's head and not by heating them.
Researchers say it killed 80% of lice and 98% of their eggs in a recent study.
Researchers say that "kill rate" was high enough to prevent lice from breeding, and virtually everyone who tested the "louse-buster" was free of lice within a week.
