Election Day has now come and gone, but plenty of people still have very strong opinions about local races.

Allie's Cafe in South bend was just one of the places buzzing about the election Wednesday morning.

It is no surprise that the reactions were mixed.

“I can tell you a bunch of friends and I wanted to drive by the Republican Headquarters and laugh at them a little bit last night. So, yeah, I'm definitely feeling the sigh of relief now,” said resident, Jed Walls.

“I have to honestly say I was a little disappointed in the results. But, I also know that we probably have good people running on both sides, and our country is still going to move along nicely no matter which way the election goes,” Shirley Reznik said. She was both a voter and a volunteer in this year’s election.

One of the biggest changes you will see now that the election season is over will not come from the halls of Congress, but from the commercial breaks of channel 16’s shows.

Political commercials can now be put on hold at least for a few months.
