Donnelly Speaks about Tasks Ahead

Indiana's 2nd District Congressman elect is setting his sights high for his first year in office.

Democrat Joe Donnelly defeated Incumbent Republican Chris Chocola Tuesday night to take Indiana's 2nd District Congressional Seat.

Donnelly won with 54% of the vote compared to Chocola's 46%

Donnelly celebrated his victory at the Westside Democratic Club in South Bend.

Wednesday morning, the Congressman-elect stopped by our WNDU Studios to talk about his win, and what he hopes to do during his time in office. “In the first year I want to bring back more jobs to this district, bring in better, more affordable health care for the people. I want to try to get to Iraq and most importantly see Iraq become successful. So that our sons and daughters from this area can come back home and leave a stable Iraq behind,” he said.

Donnelly also talked about the Democrats' national success this midterm election.

He says the American people were ready for a change.
