Pelley Sentenced to 160 Years in Prison

The man convicted in one of Michiana's most notorious crimes will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Jeff Pelley was sentenced to 160 years in prison Tuesday afternoon for killing four members of his family in 1989.

Pelley was convicted of killing his father, step-mother and two step-sisters this July.

The conviction finally brought some resolution in a case that had been unsolved since the night of Pelley's prom 17 years ago.

Pelley was supposed to be sentenced last month, but that was postponed. His lawyers asked the judge for more time to prepare for the sentencing and that request was granted.

Pelley's lawyers have already said they will appeal the guilty verdict.

We have a crew getting reaction to Tuesday's sentencing from Pelley's family, the prosecution and Pelley's defense team. We'll bring you that reaction tonight on NewsCenter 16 beginning at 5PM.
