It finally feels like a new season outside, and the Near Northwest Neighborhood decided that made for a perfect time to start their spring cleaning.
Saturday was their 7th annual kick-off event for their Adopt-a-Block program.
Homeowners and other volunteers spent the day cleaning up their streets and yards, and the city of South Bend sent crews around to pick up the bags of garbage and yard waste.
This is just a celebration for the Adopt-a-Block program, which actually goes on year-round.
The neighborhood association says it's been growing rapidly in recent years. They're now up to more than 100 blocks in the program.
