Fourth grader Trey Stoops is generally a polite and positive-thinking student, according to Elsie Rogers Principal Janet Birch.

During a recent student council fundraiser to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation, students were each asked to donate one dollar. Trey donated $50 of his birthday gift money that he had planned to use to purchase a new baseball bat.

His mother was so proud of him that she matched his contribution, helping the school to make a generous donation to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Trey’s heart goes beyond just giving, he is also compassionate toward others. He enjoys talking with his elderly neighbor and helping her with yard work.

He was awarded Most Valuable Player last year during the Granger Rocket Football season. Currently he is involved with Osceola Little League.

Some day he hopes to become a professional athlete.

Trey’s giving and caring behavior has deemed him a Do The Right Thing winner.
