On February 20th Cory noticed smoke coming from his neighbor's house. He immediately ran across the street to help the 93-year-old woman who lives there get out of the home. He was able to find her and bring her outside before the fire department arrived.

Not only is this 17-year-old brave, but he's compassionate as well. He recently went on a mission trip to Brooklyn, New York and volunteered with the Salvation Army to work with underprivileged children. Last summer he volunteered at Camp Rayburn in South Bend.

He is also a mentor and a wrestler at Mishawaka High School.

Cory is active in his youth group at River Valley Church.

After high school he wants to go to culinary school. He currently works at Carrabbas Italian Grill.

He is receiving the Do The Right Thing Award because of his bravery and compassion for others.
