The nationwide average for a gallon of gas is expected to fall to $2.50 per gallon by January, according to a monthly report by the Energy Information Administration.
Tuesday, oil prices fell by almost three-percent, and crude futures are at their lowest level since March.
However, the EIA also said it expects gas prices to rise again next spring.
