Now that spring is almost officially here, many outside events will begin taking place, including one this weekend all about maple syrup.
Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle is holding their annual Sugar Camp Days on Saturday.
Families can see how maple syrup is made, take part in horse-drawn wagon rides, enjoy a pancake breakfast, and many tasty treats all made from maple syrup.
Maple cotton candy and kettle corn will also be made.
Tours will be given to folks wanting to see how the syrup is made, and samples and baked goods will be for sale.
“You know with the economy and everything, everyone is wanting to purchase locally grown or locally produced food and this is one place where you can actually get pure maple syrup is right here at Bendix Woods and it's made right here in New Carlisle, Indiana,” says Leslie Witkowski, with St. Joseph County Parks.
