An accident on State Road 13 in Kosciusko County leaves one man dead.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a personal injury collision on State Road 13 around 5:30 Wednesday evening. It happened south of the intersection of South Barbee Drive near North Webster.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 2003 Cadillac Deville located off the west side of State Road 13 that had rolled over approximately three times.
Officials believe the car was traveling northbound on State Road 13 and crossed left of center line for an unknown reason, continuing off the west side of the road and then flipping.
72-year-old Ronald L. Fruitt of West Lafayette was driving north bound on State Road 13 when he was ejected from his vehicle and it rolled over.
Fruitt was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Team. The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Team was assisted at the scene by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Warsaw Police Department, North Webster Police Department, North Webster E.M.S. and the Indiana State Police.
The Parkview Samaritan helicopter was flown to the scene but was disregarded due to the severe internal injuries suffered by Fruitt.
