Fresh off helping pass the economic stimulus package, Congressman Joe Donnelly joined 16 Saturday Morning to talk about the bill.
The much-debated package got only three votes from Republicans in the Senate, and unanimous opposition in the House, but Congressman Donnelly doesn't want to look at it as a win for Democrats or a loss for Republicans.
"I don't think this is something that a party wins. What we're trying to do is create jobs for our country," said Donnelly.
He added that this bill is expected to add close to 8,000 jobs for northern Indiana and more than $1 billion of road construction for the Hoosier state.
While he doesn't look at the $787 billion plan as a "win", Donnelly is certainly pleased he got his RV stimulus added onto the economic bill.
Representative Donnelly and Senator Evan Bayh worked together to get tax breaks for people wanting to buy RV's.
The opportunity to write off the sales tax will also include cars, trucks, motorcycles, and motor homes.
