St. Joseph County residents stuck with old recycling bins can get rid of them and help some needy children at the same time.
An organization called “Greenlockers” is looking to collect as many of the 18-gallon bins as possible. Those bins will be used this spring to collect school supplies that would otherwise get thrown away.
The non-profit organization distributes school supplies and used clothing to children in the area and abroad.
On Saturday, Greenlockers collected the bins at five area Martin's supermarkets until 3 p.m.
If you didn't get a chance to drop off your bin today, you can drop it off at three different locations:
--Bethel College, at the front administration building.
--Monroe Circle Community Center.
--Granger Community Church (on Feb. 14).
