Police bust meth lab in Plymouth

Four people are in jail after a meth lab bust in Plymouth.

The lab was found in the 13000 block of 5th Road, about a half mile west of Michigan Road in Marshall County.

LaPaz Police received an anonymous tip and with the help of the Marshall County Sheriff's office and the Indiana State Police, they put the house under surveillance around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Shortly after midnight, they confirmed suspects were inside.

Officials entered the home and found what they believe to be meth actively cooking inside the home.

Officials say neighbors are helpful in these situations. “A lot of times neighbors can be a big help because of the odor, the smell of chemicals that meth labs will put off, a lot of times it’s easy for the neighbors to detect a chemical smell and often times they do get police involved in finding labs,” said Trooper Keith Bikowski of the Indiana State Police.

Four people were arrested in the bust, 29-year-old Cheryl Paschen, 26-year-old Chad Richard, 23-year-old Toni Schutz and 27-year-old Chad Whitten. All four are being held in the Marshall County Jail pending charges.
