While many in the crowd of millions waited to dance the night away at the inaugural balls, a South Bend man danced the day away.

Eighty-three-year-old Mussa Muhammad says his moves and the crowd's reaction had him lost in the moment.

In fact, he was lost to the point where he couldn't find his travel group and got stuck in Washington, D.C.

Muhammad says his group waited several hours for him Tuesday. He made his way back home Wednesday morning.

You would think losing your group of 45 people would be stressful, but he says it was no sweat. The only sweat dripping down his forehead was from dancing.

It's not every day he breaks out his moves, but being there to witness a historic moment in American history was something Muhammad says he couldn't resist.

He heard words of inspiration from President Barack Obama. Then, some music, and he was lost in the moment.

"If there's rhythm, it makes me move. This is how I missed the people. Girls coming from everywhere wanted to dance with me," Muhammad explains.

How did he explain that to his wife?

"She knew. She's the only lady in my life."

His lady was the first person he called from his cell phone to say he would be home much later than expected.

Two cab rides, a Greyhound bus from DC to South Bend, and an additional $230 later, he says it was all worth it.

"I'm glad I was able to make history."
