South Shore train service is up and running again after a deadly accident this morning.
A South Shore train struck a car earlier this morning; killing the driver of the vehicle.
The train hit the vehicle at Lake/Porter County Line Road around 6:40 Monday morning. That area is located between the Portage/Ogden Dunes and Miller stations.
The accident killed the driver of the vehicle but no one on the train was hurt.
All train service was suspended until the coroner could investigate the accident.
Train service was resumed by mid-morning.
