They are getting more popular ever year -- green toys.
Toys made from recycled materials, and they are safer.
One local store carries a variety of green toys to choose from, making this holiday safer for your family, and the environment.
One example is a dart set that uses magnets to stick to the board.
This year, after last years lead paint scare, many parents may be looking for toys that are educational or environmentally safe.
At Explorations Toys they offer many toys that are covered with water based stain, and built with wood.
On top of that, Explorations holds their toy companies accountable for their products.
"I don't think it makes to much of a difference where they are made. I think it is the company that is responsible for being sure that they are tested and that they are properly made," says Chuck Harper, owner of Explorations Toys.
Some advice for parents out there who may have already bought a toy, and are not sure about whether or not it may have lead based paint -- the health department does offer free screenings.
