People came for the soup, five different kinds of it.
"The soup is just perfect for the cold weather," said Frank Kline, a sixth grader at Culver Elementary School.
For five dollars, people got a ceramic art item and a meal--all to benefit Heminger House, a shelter for women and children of domestic abuse.
"The Heminger House needs the donation and it's a great way for the sixth graders to help out our community," said Kline.
Most of the soup disappeared--a testament to the hard work of sixth graders and everybody involved with this year’s project.
"We can do some great things for our community,” Kline said.
