Michiana drivers say it's the start of snowy and slick roads
Drivers in Michiana say there was no margin for error on their ride home from work Thursday evening. In some spots, it got worse by the minute.

Drivers in Michiana say there was no margin for error on their ride home from work Thursday evening. In some spots, it got worse by the minute.
Just as the snow started to fall, drivers heading west towards LaPorte were startled to see a flipped over pick up truck stuck in a ditch.
Fortunately, the driver was okay.
David Butts says, “Most people do drive to fast for the conditions.”
Whether or not speed was a factor, Butts says this is a wake up call.
He was first in the line of cars stalled along State Road 2 while emergency workers got the truck out of the way.
Like us, he experienced the same driving conditions from South Bend to LaPorte.
Butts says, “Some spots, not bad at all. Coming up Bendix Hill was nasty.”
Nasty weather is just getting started.
Stores like Meijer are putting snow shovels, windshield fluid, and winter survival items on display for shoppers to see when they walk in.
Kay Holmes says, “I think tonight many will go out and say, I need my shovel. I need some salt, but they actually need to see it before they realize it.”
Josh Holston says, “I think they need kind of warning just like when there's a tornado.”
Butts says, here's you're warning. Snow can be sneaky, so be aware and pay attention to the flow of traffic.
He says, “If somebody is going slow you might have to follow them and don't try to pass them. There's a reason when someone is going slow.”
