A LaPorte woman died in a car crash after leaving a Halloween party early Sunday morning.
Kelly Pollnow, 24, from LaPorte was driving east on CR 50 S, when officials say, she struck a guide wire on a utility pole. Her car flew through the air before crashing into a tree.
The accident happened in Pinola, LaPorte County at the intersection of CR 500 W.
LaPorte County coroner John Sullivan says Pollnow died from head injuries. Sullivan also says the driver’s blood alcohol level was .24, three times the legal limit.
Pollnow and a male passenger were pinned in the vehicle before firefighters extricated them out of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The passenger is being treated at a local hospital for his injuries.
