Early Sunday morning, police collected gun casings for evidence at a Marathon station on Ironwood Drive and Mishawaka Avenue, where shards of glass littered the pavement.
Later that morning, police cars surrounded an empty vehicle driven by 21-year-old Bradley Walls before his death. Walls was shot on Main Street, then drove his car down LaSalle Avenue and crashed into a pole on the intersection of LaSalle and LaFayette Blvd., according to Metro Homicide. He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital.
"We've had too many shootings,” said John Pullman from his car at the Marathon station. “It scares me."
It’s too early to know whether any of the shootings are connected, according to Metro Homicide.
The five shootings on Sunday morning are as follows:
At Taco Bell, police say a man was shot during a large fight and went to a hospital.
Then, at a Marathon Gas station on Ironwood Drive and Mishawaka Avenue, two people are shot. Police said they went to the hospital without help from an ambulance.
Another shooting outside of Kelly’s Pub around 3 a.m.; a male later went to the hospital, saying he was there.
The next shooting left Bradley Wells dead.
The fifth shooting Sunday morning was reported by a man who called in and said he’d been shot while walking on College Street, north of Lincoln Way West.
