7-7-06 - A Sherman police officer who ran his personal car into the side of a home in Denison last weekend has resigned. Detective David Allen Demoure was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident and speeding.

Demoure resigned his post with Sherman this week, amid an internal investigation into his actions. Denison police say Demoure initially called police from another home following the accident saying he'd been the victim of a carjacking.

The Denison police department turned their investigation over to the District Attorney.

The accident happened at the intersection of Hyde Park and Loy Lake in Denison early Saturday morning. Police say a car went through the four-way stop and crashed into a house.
