The extremely popular and very colorful fleet of painted elk statues in Elkhart County is going to grow. Three new elk will be added to the herd of 30 this summer.
It is all to raise money for child abuse prevention services, part of CAPS (child and parent services) in Elkhart County. The organization will host a fundraiser auction on June 14th at the RV Hall of Fame. "Vines and Steins," the auction fundraiser, will showcase the brand new elk, which will be available for purchase, as well as several other items. Beer and wine pairings will also be available.
The elk are painted by local artists, Diane Overmyer, Carime Patel and Dr. Whitney Richmond, in an effort to raise awarness about the organization and showcase local talent.
CAPS is an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and providing services to families and parents. Click on the CAPS Website for more information.
