SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Some South Bend students are being put to work this summer, thanks to more funding.

Legislation passed in April allotted $100,000 towards two South Bend recreational centers: The Charles Black Center on Washington and The Martin Luther King Jr. Rec Center on Linden.

Fifteen students are working at the Martin Luther King Center, and ten at Charles Black.

The students work 15 hours a week and are paid $8 an hour to do everything from working with younger kids to cleaning bathrooms.

The program started on June 23 and runs for twelve weeks.
