The St. Joseph Metro Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting after one person was shot and killed on the west side of South Bend.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting after one person was shot and killed on the west side of South Bend.

Just after one o’clock Monday morning, Officers were called to the 1000 block of north Brookfield, that's just off Lincolnway West.

Officials say 37-year-old Herman E. Troope was shot and killed.

An autopsy is scheduled for today in Fort Wayne.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was on the scene throughout the night.

Police have not reported any arrests at this time.
