Monday morning police arrested 23-year-old Toran Lee Savant of Akron as he arrived for a regularly scheduled probation appointment at the Kosciusko County Probation Department.

Indiana State Police say they launched an investigation after receiving information from the Wabash County Division of Child Services. The original reporting stated that a possible case of sexual misconduct involving a 15-year-old girl and Savant had allegedly occurred at his home in Fulton County.

Police say Savant provided the girl alcohol and then had sexual intercourse with her this past December.

Savant is being transferred to the Fulton County Jail where his bond is set at $40,000.

I know both parties in this matter personally. This 15 year old girl has accused other people of this in the past. She accused savant of this after she was in the Bowen Center for cutting her wrist. She is emotionally unstable and to me seems like an likely reason for attention. She was recently dating a 25 year old and had to be told that she was 15 by another friend. Even though she had an ID that claims she was 18 years of age. Yes they were drinking together bad choice on his part, sexual involvment highly not likely considering I know both parties and there behavior. Please think about all of this before you make a judgement on this guy. Feel free to ask questions

first of all, you dont the situation, only he and her know exactly what happened.all of you who wont believe it UNLESS PROVEN, THANK YOU.i know him.i know this didn't happen.he is not an "animal" as been said about him.it is simple he is human just like you and me.no different.one look?? its a mug shot aint supposed to be a great pic.as a parent i worry about other people not him.but real sex offenders. he is not guilty.he does deserve respect for going over seas, risking his life, and making it home.the girl in this situation is crazy, and alot doesn't add up, to this acclaim, she said she was 18 had an id. bought cigerettes and everything.so what is to make him think any different? he is not taking advantage of anything. i cant say im sorry to her family, she can kiss my butt, call me a cold hearted mom but i dont care, why would any mother let her 15 or 16 yr old go out with a man of that age difference, and where was her mom? my mom would never let me leave with man of that age.

Show him some respect??? Are you kidding me? If what he is being charged with is true it doesn't matter to me that he fought overseas for me or anyone else in this country...he had sex with a minor. Period, end of story. Just because someone fought in a war for this country doesn't mean we cease to hold them accountable for being an idiot. I will hold in high regard those that choose to respect those that they fought for...not those that take advantage of it.

just because this girl said these things does not mean that is the way it went. maybe she said she was older. why wait 7 months before telling any one? girls are starting to have sex alot younger and with multiple boys or men. if you dont know the whole story dont judge

Stick to women called your wife - he isn't married, so I don't know what that's about. I've also heard this chick that's accusing him is in the loony bin and that her own mother doesn't believe the allegations she's making. Just a word of caution to all those out there to hear both sides of the story before passing judgement. Unless you were there, you don't know what happened.

is it me or are these kind of men getting worse. Why do they not have a shut off in their head telling them that these girls are underage and it is wrong. I looked on Indiana Violent Registry and there are so many offenders. More than what I could fatham. This day in age something has to be done, or it will get worse, I say harder sentence
