As gas prices reach record highs, criminals stoop to new lows. A thief drove off with her tank full, and a gas station attendant on her hood.
It happened Sunday afternoon at the Town and Country BP in South Bend.
Gas station management says the woman was trying to leave without paying for her gas after she'd gotten into a disagreement with the attendant.
The attendant then went outside and stood in front of the woman’s car to try and stop her, but it didn't work.
“My assistant was thrown up on the hood she was stunned so she grabbed to hang on and when she made the turn out of the parking lot onto McKinley, it threw my assistant onto the ground,” station manager Ben Clark tells us.
The attendant is home recovering after being treated for some pretty nasty road rash and torn ligaments.
The driver was a black female, about 5 foot 6 driving a dark blue older Buick or Oldsmobile with temporary plates.
