Former Roseland town councilman David Snyder was back in court today, this time for charges stemming from the "Rumble in Roseland."

Snyder is accused of beating up fellow councilman Ted Penn in January 2007.

Snyder is charged with intimidation and battery.

He goes on trial July 28th. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison.

david snyder and his ole lady are cry babies that teamed up-i think he's a wuss and an attention seeker. He's most likely got a genetic condition that makes him think/wish his B@lls were bigger than they are. The Snyders are the white trash freak show of Roseland. The Only town/village where you can divorce and still be brother and sister. Roseland, what a place to visit but a great place to live.

Wrong wrong wrong about the child support. $750,000 house and a million dollar business was the divore agreement to take care of Snyder's children. Greed was $1800 per month child support order. The oldest is receiving adult SSI as he is 20. Snyder wanted custody of both and as most fathers couldn't fight the expensive lawyer. Get it right and then lets air your dirty laundry!

To Anonymous - you are incorrect as to where the Snyders reside. They are still in Roseland, poluting the air and leaving dirt marks everywhere they have been. Take a drive down East Pendle St and see them sitting on their front porch with the purple paint waving at the traffic that goes by - just like the Beverly Hillbillies. As for "D" of Roseland, you can have him honey, nobody but you could put up with the stench.

Dear Kim, Take your rose colored glasses off the Snyders made there own bed and a joke of themselves and we make fun of them because they did this to themselves. David Snyder would rather drive and expensive car then support his kids who deserve food shelter and clothing or have you forgotten about those things. He has. He walked away from them and his responsibilities to them and his poor handicapped child. I do not feel sorry for them and will not. They made Roseland look bad and you should be ashamed of what they did to your town. Now companies do not even want to look at this town to build around it because of what they did. How sad. I hope he does get prison time. May be it will give him time to reflect on his kids and what he did to them. He is the one who has to answer to God for being the poor scum he is as well as Dorothy. He is a poor excuse for man that these kids once called DAD!!!!!!

It's a wonderful life . . The only thing more wonderful than the fact that you and your slim ball of a husband are no longer in council is that fact that the house of cards you created is starting to finally fall down around you. You can no longer hide behind the council table and can no longer try to scare and intimidate others. In a very short period of time both of you will no longer be more than a nasty joke or an insult to enemies " man that guy sure is a snyder" go far away davie and realize that it won't be long before your dirty deeds will finally end you, cheryl, and big mama in jail for awhile. Oh by the way, real men and women support their children and families, they don't need flashy cars and cheap suits to impress others. It is a good thing Teddy Penn is a liar and the St Joseph County Prosecutor is inept. They have nothing to back up their accusations but lies, lies and more lies. Tiller's part in this mess too will all come to light, and the public will learn that this was round #1 for the attack in September 2007. Snyder is just getting another chapter for his book. Please write more nasty comments as I bet that they keep his publishers interested!

why isn't he in jail already? child support is critical for child development. there are a lot of people in jail for being behind a lot less than him. is he getting special treatment? the judge told me to get a second job because my support was more than i made a week. i did, why can't he?

Hey Tony, if you didn't know, the Snyders moved to Niles some while ago and if you are talking about Officer Tiller, he was exonerated of all charges in regards to Snyder's resisting arrest. You really need to keep up on your local news there deary.

Don't get me wrong,the Snyders and Roseland are great theater and it would be a reality show I would watch because it's actually real. But it is somewhat disturbing that folks would get so fired up about this when you have a president that lied about invading a country and commited worse crimes in the cover up. But if the shoes where on the other foot and his wife was to pay. Indiana will not inforce the child support. I am a male with my three kids and they have told my exwife do not worry, you are paying way below what you should be paying and you are 9500.00 back on childsupport "we are not going to do anything to you" So David is lucking to be living in Indiana

I bet it's all about to catch up to good old Dave. After Him and his wife, along with the worst town treasurer EVER (who should be in probed for possible theft of town money)ran Roseland into the ground, it's the least the justice system could/should do. It made for a great soap opera, hopefully it has a happy ending for us and a jail term for him.

I not sure how he can be "misunderstood". I see him and his wife driving around Niles in a Jaguar and I'm supposed to feel sorry for him because he's "misunderstood." I'm not sure I can misunderstand somebody who owes thousands in back child support payments and drive around in a luxury vehicle. For every action there is a consequence and I'm sure he'll get what he deserves.

You know, I don't even live in the same county, so really I only know about the Snyders from watching tv. It makes me sick to see such heartless and rude people get away with the stuff they do. Snyder MAN UP and take care of your kids! I come from a single parent household and I am also a single parent. Parents like you need to be locked up. It takes two to make a baby! And the way you guys "took care" of Roseland, well, I feel sorry for everyone that lived there! Dorothy, honestly, if you think he is a good man, well that doesn't say a whole lot for the type of woman you are. Which isn't really much from what I've gathered anyways. The Snyders have made a laughing stock of the law. What is wrong with these judges that are supposed to mete out justice. True justice is a thing of the past. SOme people can get by with anything and others get stiff jail sentences . One man gets by without paying support and others pay more and if they miss one payment they are back in jail. Yes, justice is blind because the ones giving the sentences are either blind or just plain dumb. Clean up the courts and just maybe things will change. If Snyder doesn't draw the max time this way, then something is very wrong. Disgusted with the justice system.

Seriously - why the heck is this guy (and his wife) still news???? There has to be a million more important things to report on. I'm so sick of hearing his name and seeing his face on WNDU! Seriously considering changing to a different news channel!!!!!

I am sure I am not the only person who is extremely sick and tired of hearing about Snyder's and their upsetting Roseland's businesses and residents.David needs to be sent up for the child support his children are NOT getting.Who cares if they are in another state,he made these children,he needs to support them.Both Snyders need to get jobs and become productive members of society rather than extending their 15 minutes of fame by making us listen to what they are or are not doing.I have no respect for either of these people as David is not forced to be responsible.Noncustodial parents are to pay support for the care and well being of their children.David has gotten away WAY TOO LONG with thumbing his nose at the courts and lying about where he has a job lined up.Go to work, McDonald's is hiring, or is David too good for that.At least he could begin paying some of what he owes.'Course we could have him arrested again,seems they can always come up with large amounts of $$ for bail!

David Snyder is completely misunderstood by the public. Most of you know nothing about what actually went on during the Roseland Council meetings. He is a great man who tired to do what is best for an ungrateful town and this is how he is treated! You all need to get a life and leave him alone! All of the woman out there are jealous and would love to have a man like him in your life. Admit it!

I think that DS would be a 'perfect-fit' for the mayors job in Benton Harbor. The current mayor must have been a protege' of DS'. Besides, if he went to BH; he would do fine. It is a 'no-fault' State.

Drop your subscription to cable TV and simply follow the zany former Roseland town councilman as he and the wacky cast of characters continue to supply never ending examples of "you might be a redneck if ..."!! put his a@@ in jail and keep him there till he pays what he owes i owed my x about $1000.00 doller because i was laid off for the state took my tax check for what i owed

Like he will do any time. Has not done any for his back child support. This couple has wasted so much of roselands money and time.
