2 hospitalized when car crashes into tree in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two people were sent to the hospital Friday night after their car crashed into a tree.

It happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Locust Road in South Bend.

The car went over a curb, through a fence and into the tree.

Police had the road shut down in that area for a couple of hours.

They say there did not appear to be any fatalities, but they could not comment on the severity of the injuries.
