Officials are investigating the death of an 18-year-old male found dead by his mother at their home in Kosciusko County. The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Shawn Michael Leins, 18.
Deputies from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, along with Syracuse E.M.S and fire personnel arrived at the Leins’ residence at East Excalibur Place in Cromwell at around noon today, responding to a call from Leins’ mother after she found her son unconscious. Leins’ mother went to wake her son this morning and discovered that he was not breathing. She called 911 and dispatchers gave her C.P.R instructions over the phone until emergency crews could arrive.
Police do not believe foul play was involved, but they are waiting for results of an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine cause of death. The Deputy Coroner says it might be next week before conclusive results are available.
