Southwestern Michigan's first casino is off to a strong start.
The Four Winds Casino Resort in Berrien County's New Buffalo Township took in $49 million in slot machine revenue during its first two months of operation in August and September.
That's based on figures released Wednesday.
Table games typically account for about 10 percent of a casino's revenue.
A report says that would put the Four Winds' total take for the period at just less than $54 million -- just under a million dollars a day.
The Dowagiac-based Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians owns the casino.
