The pains of the potholes press on!

Drivers are trying desperately to avoid them. Crews are working tirelessly to fill them.

"We are out here working with everything we've got to do it," says Larry Clough from South Bend's Street Department.

So if "filling" is the theme here, head over to a South Bend dentist's office.

Outside of Dr. Geoffrey Klopenstine's office on SR 933, you'll find what's been named, "The Grand Canyon."

"The Grand Canyon" is a huge pothole. Hub caps and rims have piled up outside the dentist's office as a result of this pothole.

"The nickname a lot of people say when they need to get a filling done is, 'boy that feels like a pothole,'" Dr. Klopenstine says laughing.

One of the dental assistants in the office is also victim of "The Grand Canyon."

"It was just huge. It just seemed like it sucked your car in," Latrica Pheifer explains.

Meanwhile, street crews are busy "filling" so after a major street "cleaning" drivers will certainly have some "bright whites" to smile about.
