Mishawaka, Ind. Get ready to get dirty for a great cause. The 10th annual Marine Mud Run is right around the corner. Next Saturday, September 13th, hundreds of people will meet at the mud run obstacle course at Marian High School in Mishawaka.
The course is located at 1311 South Logan Street.
The 5K (3.1 mile) run starts at 9 a.m. The run is open to all ages and you can register up to the day of the event. Registration on the day of the event opens at 7 a.m. You are encouraged to register beforehand so that you can secure a t-shirt and medal.
During the 3.1 mile course you will have to jump over five-foot walls, get over three vaults, encounter a cargo net, monkey bars and rope swing and much more.
If you aren’t in shape, don’t worry. This race is supposed to be a fun way to raise awareness and money for young children in our community who go without gifts on Christmas through Toys for Tots.
This year, they have made some changes to the course. They have now built smaller obstacles right next to the big ones for the younger kids.
One top of that, to celebrate 10 years and more than $200,000 raised, The Marine Corps League of St. Joseph Valley is hosting a concert. Jason Michael Carroll will be performing. This concert is a way to honor our service men, women, police and firefighters.
