Granger family suing Martin's

A Granger family has filed a lawsuit against Martin's Supermarket and Dole Fresh Vegetables.

The parents of 14-year-old Brian Crant filed the suit this week in the St. Joseph County Superior Court.

The suit claims the Crant family purchased a bag of spinach at Martin's Supermarket that was tainted by last year's E-coli outbreak.

Court documents say Brian Crant became permanently injured during August of 2006 after eating the spinach.

The suit seeks unspecified damages.

Martin's Supermarkets, Crant's family and their attorneys all declined to comment about the suit.
