10-year-old from LaPorte gets runner-up in JIF contest

A 10-year-old LaPorte boy who made it into the finals for JIF’s Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich contest came back a winner, although not with the grand prize.

Landon Jones is one of four runner-ups and won a $2,500 scholarship. He created the “Re-invented Chicken n’ Waffles with PBQ Sauce”.

Jones went to New York to compete in front of the judges live. He also got a chance to be on the Today Show.

Jones was going to be on 16 Morning News Monday but was unable to make it, so we’re hopefully going to try and get him on soon.

The grand prize winner of the contest was an 8-year-old from North Carolina. She created Wushu Chicken Tacos.
