A South Bend Community School Corporation bus driver has been charged with child seduction after officials say she engaged in sexual acts with a Clay High School student.
32-year-old Monisha Simpson is charged with two counts of child seduction.
Simpson allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old member of the Clay High School football team in August, 2011.
Simpson was the bus driver assigned to the football team.
The victim told officials that he had told Simspon he was 18 years old, but had also told her he was a student. The two allegedly had sexual encounters at Simspon's home on S. Taylor St. in South Bend.
The South Bend Community School Corporation released a statement Thursday saying Simpson was placed on administrative leave on August 30, 2011 after becoming aware of the situation. Simspon was fired after the investigation was complete, and she was charged.
Simpson is in custody at the St. Joseph County Jail.
Her initial hearing is February 22.
Her bond has been set at $20,000.
