Niles knocks off Lakeshore in battle of Michigan boys hoops unbeatens
Niles hands Lakeshore its first loss of the season in boys hoops. Highlights.

It was the biggest high school basketball game in Southwest Michigan in years--Undefeated and 2nd ranked Lakeshore on the road at fellow unbeaten and Big 16 rival Niles.
The Vikings wouldn't be denied in front of a big home crowd, handing the Lancers their first loss of the season, 53-38.
Niles jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Lakeshore scored the final nine points of the 1st quarter to take a 9-6 lead into the 2nd quarter. The Vikings rebounded to take a 22-21 lead into halftime.
Niles extended the lead to 37-30 heading to the 4th and then pulled away for the victory.

In the girls game, Niles led 23-19 at the half and scored the opening bucket of the 3rd to go up by six.
Lakeshore scored the next 10 points and never trailed again, holding on for the 43-40 victory.
Niles senior Maureen Craig was recognized after the game for becoming the school's all-time leader in the 3 point shooting.
In other Big 16 girls action, the St. Joe Lady Bears improved to 10-0 with a 71-56 win over Benton Harbor.
