I hired into Utilimaster through Spherion early this year. I have been hired into a permanent position within the company and fully see advancement opportunities in the future. I choose not to sit back, complain about no vacation after three months, Jerome, or choose to bash my former employer, Anonymous. I choose to take the position that was offered and work hard. I have a mortgage, I must feed my children, and I am extremely satisfied with my working conditions and I believe coming to Utilimaster was a wonderful career move. The Reach program is bringing jobs to a county with one of the highest unemployment rates in the U.S. Seriously, is the "poor me" lines the best you can come up with?

From the other comments, it sure sounds like a place to avoid. Problem is, when you don't have a job, ANYTHING looks better. Employers can get away with treating people like trash...there's plenty more where you came from. I've seen the same thing at every manufacturing company I have ever been at.

I was just fired from Utilimaster thru Spherion. Iworked for about 3 months when I torn my rotor cuff at home. I claimed no workmens comp. I was put off of work by my doctor.Spherion fired me because of medactil reason. Spherion says you get no holiday pay or vacation pay at all. If ppl want to work for a company that does not care for there ppl go to Spherion to get a job they like suckers......

Ever since Utilimaster was sold by Holiday Rambler, it has been steadilygoing downhill. I know, I worked there (in management). As you would walk into Plant 14, there was a sign on the wall that read, Our employees are our biggest asset". When Utilimaster was sold, the very first thing that happened was, that sign was taken off the walk. Now I hear that Utilimaster hires through Spherion Temp Employment Agency. When a worker is "assigned" a job at Utilimaster, they would be there 89 days, ONE DAY SHORT of being offered a full time job WITH benefits. You would be sent back to Sperion and most likely never assigned to Utilimaster again. Its a constant turn over of employees. Run them in, burn them out and turn them loose. Now if you have ANY intelligence, do you REALLY want to work there in "hopes" they will like you can keep you?? Don't count on it. You are better off finding a full-time job WITH benefits and not waste your time. I was being pushed out so I QUIT THEM!
