An advisory board established to provide recommendations for offshore wind energy development in Michigan is hosting public meetings this week.

The Michigan Great Lakes Wind Council hosts a 6 p.m. Tuesday meeting at Grand Valley State University's Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids.

The council hosts a 6 p.m. Wednesday meeting at the Fairlane Development Center on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus.

Gov. Jennifer Granholm created the council in 2009. She is scheduled to attend the Wednesday meeting in Dearborn.

The council issued a report late last year but is continuing to get public feedback on favorable locations for offshore wind energy development and related policies.
