Indiana economic development officials are heading to Texas to attend a wind energy conference where they'll try to attract renewable energy companies to the state.
Members of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. will join state energy and utility officials in Dallas for WINDPOWER 2010, a wind conference and exhibition trade show.
The show running Sunday through Wednesday is touted as the largest of its kind in the world, with more than 1,300 exhibitors and 23,000 wind energy leaders from around the world.
The Indiana delegation will meet with company executives to encourage them to bring high-tech renewable energy and component
manufacturing jobs to the state.
Indiana wind farms currently generate 750 megawatts of power.
One of them is the largest wind farm east of the Mississippi River.
