As you're going through your closest to do your spring cleaning, you may find some things are hard to throw away.

What do you do with old electronics or your old cell phone? You can bring your junk to the 2010 “Tough Stuff Recycling Fest”. They’ll take computers, speakers, pagers, microwaves, cameras, TV’s and radios. You can even recycle shoes, egg cartons, and packing peanuts.

There are a few things you can’t bring, however: batteries, hairdryers, light bulbs, or smoke detectors.

The Recycling Fest will be held in the IUSB parking lot on the corner of Ruskin and Esther in South Bend.

Last year, more than 60,000 pounds of materials were recycled. This year, that number was exceeded within the first hour.

The event goes until 2 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
