Indiana's largest environmental group is hosting a forum this weekend focusing on what the state's upcoming legislative session could mean for renewable energy, mass transit and other "green" policies.
The Hoosier Environmental Council's second annual Green Policy Forum will be Saturday at Marian University in Indianapolis. Two state lawmakers, Democratic Rep. Matt Pierce of Bloomington and Republican Sen. Dennis Kruse of Auburn, will address the gathering.
HEC Executive Director Jesse Kharbanda will explore the potential for renewable energy in Indiana, while other speakers will discuss sustainable agriculture and recycling.
The event costs $10 and $5 for students, with lunch included. It concludes with an afternoon tour of Marian University's 55-acre nature preserve.
